Infant Swimming II

Infant Swimming I
On Friday, Oma, Mama and I went to our last German infant swimming class. It makes me sad that this is the end of it. I'll miss the other babies. Mama said she'll get me into an infant swimming class at home though.

Celina
I met another big girl the other day. Her name is Celina and she will be 4 soon. Mama and Celina's Daddy used to play in the sandbox together and her Daddy is also three years older than Mama. Funny, eh? Mama says this is like a deja vu to her, cause she says that Celina looks a lot like her Daddy when he was little.Celina was dressed just like me when she came over. What a coincedence. It's like we're twins. I just wish I had more hair.

Our Trip to K-Town
Oma, Mama and I drove down to Kaiserslautern to visit my old Granduncle Guenther and Grandauntie Christine. They live in the middle of the Pfaelzer Forest and it was amazing to see that many trees. Carlo - their cat - and me got along great. He let me chase him around and pull on his fur. Isolde, the wine retailer around the corner, has a cat too - Ben. He's a biiiig cat. Mama was trying to tell me that he's not really a cat and rather a dog... four legs and a tail, so what's the difference anyway. Well, we had a blast too. Ben would bark at me, I'd laugh and scream back and chase him around the yard. He also let me play with his cork.On Saturday Mama and I went to Heidelberg to see Auntie Anja and Uncle Peter. We got to see Auntie Anja's wedding dress. It's really pretty! They took us downtown and Mama bought me my first ice cream!!!! It was soy ice cream with green apple taste and it was yummie! The only other soy ice cream they had was with wheat germ... Mama says that I cannot have any cow milk before I turn 1 but that I don't have to eat hippy ice cream either. I will be 1 pretty soon and then I can eat ANYTHING I want, even strawberries and peanut butter.
This is Auntie Tine and me on her back porch. She helped me brush my teeth.
And this is Uncle Guenther and me. He's Oma's brother.
I hope that we won't have to put him down. As you can see, it seems like he's caught the bluetongue disease that's been found in some German farm animals recently.... or maybe he had some red wine, I don't know.
And on our way back I made friends with another baby in a McDonald's changing room. Mama was telling me to keep my butt on the pad so she could change me, but the other baby was waaaaay to interesting.
PS: I just let Mama in on my little secret, so why shouldn't I tell you too: I've decided to grow a secondary tooth and it's cutting right as we speak.

Tooth Update

Sunday Play Date
On Sunday, we had Mama's school friend, Auntie Andrea, over. Auntie Andrea is the only one of Mama's school friends who has children.... (...waiting on Uncle Peter and Auntie Anja ;) It was great to see Philipp and Merle. They're really cool together. I sometimes wish I had a little brother or sister, but then again I'd have to share Mama and Daddy. I don't think I'm ready for that. I'm so happy I got to hang out with some older kids. Philipp is turning 3 in September and Merle is 16 months old (we are almost the same height though). Auntie Andrea brought chocolate cake from Ikea... Mama didn't know they sold cake there. And it wasn't made of wood either... not that I could tell... I didn't get any :( Later on we went for a walk and stopped at an ice cream parlor... everyone got ice cream apart from me. I got a waffle :( Waaaahhh!I had lots of fun playing with Auntie Andrea, Philipp and Merle.

Mama was trying to get a group baby picture, but Merle hadn't napped... you can imagine the fit she threw.
And when everyone had left, Opa let me play with his head :D That was fun, too.

Giant Leaps
Anna is getting so mobile these days, it's really amazing to watch. We have all her toys in a big basket, so she can help herself to them... which she does... with her butt up in the air. She crawls like a pro now and pulls herself up all the time. She's starting to understand that she cannot stand by herself and doesn't fall over as much anymore from sitting. Oh yeah, she can sit herself up from a crawling position. Her special interest this week is "ears". Sooooo proud of her. She has a lot to show off in South Carolina, so y'all better get ready for it. :)

Proudly Presenting....
... the first picture of Anna's first tooth. It took a lot of effort to get this. Have a look at that little tinker. I circled it in red cause the light reflections in her mouth could be misleading. So what do we do with it now? Brush it for three minutes twice a day, right?

... and even more guests
This is Uncle Peter helping me walk.

Sooo many visitors !!!
Auntie Priska and I. Mama and her went to school together. She says she might visit us in South Carolina. I hope she will, cause she's a lot of fun. Auntie Stefanie and me. Mama knows her from her theater days. They used to share an apartment. That wouldn't work out so well anymore, cause Mama now shares with Daddy and me.
Uncle Markus and me. Daddy stayed with Uncle Markus when he was on student exchange in Germany for a few weeks.
Uncle Markus is done with medschool now and I'll be a dentist when I grow up.... or a magician or an astronaut, haven't decided yet.

Pssst...
Don't tell anyone, but I'm cutting my first tooth. It's the one on the bottom right. I was trying to keep it a secret but Mama has caught on to it. I suppose I shouldn't have bit her in the arm yesterday. Otherwise she wouldn't have known. She keeps trying to get a good look at the little tip that's sticking out. But as long as I can prevent it, I'll cover it up with my tongue when she puts her fingers into my mouth. How dare she anyway. MY tooth. Hands off the goods!Wednesday, August 02, 2006
I can stand!
Mama and Oma have to keep an eye on me all the time now. I pull myself up on ANYTHING and I love it! Why didn't I have the idea earlier? If I only had the balance I need to not fall on my face, that'd be great. I also learned how to blow raspberries. It's soooo much fun. The weather has cooled down a lot over here now. 60 degrees with rain. That's what we came to Germany for :) If we wanted to be hot, we could have stayed in South Carolina. It was about time it cooled down. Mama said that this is the hottest summer Germany has had in 100 years... and no airconditioning.
