Julien and I at the SC Aqurium
My friend Julien and I went to the Aquarium in downtown Charleston on Sunday. It was great. There were so many animals, you wouldn't believe! Even an owl, a snake and a hawk. Don't ask me why there were birdies at the aquarium, they weren't swimming, that's for sure. We also saw fishies, turtles, otters, more fish, real big fish, tiny little fish and a diver! I want to go again soon, I hope Mama will get the annual membership cause then we could go every day.It finally arrived!
Look! My new me-sized sofa chair! Isn't it awesome? I'll never have to sit on laps ever again! So busy.
Well, I guess it's been a while since I gave you an update. I feel a lot better. My ears are still bothering me, but maybe it's because I'm getting my top molars. I'm seeing the doc again on Friday, just to make sure I'm doing good. Mama still gives me antihistamines twice a day to dry the fluids from behind my eardrums. By the way, she wasn't feeling so great either. She got herself a sinusitis and got to take antibiotics too. They weren't as yummy and cool (pink) looking as mine though. As you can see, I'm just busy.Saturday, January 13, 2007
Clearly, I must be dieing!
I am sooo miserable. Poooor meeeeee! First, I've had a runny nose for a week now, and since yesterday also a terrible cough, red eyes and my poooor little eeeaaars hurt. Mama tried the home remedies and then decided when she had to clean out my crusty, pus-filled eyes three times last night, that she should take me to the urgent care clinic in the morning. The doc gave me oral antibiotics and eyedrops for my various infections and also cough syrup. The syrup and antibiotics are pretty yummy, not as yummy as cherry Tylenol, but who's complaining. But the eyedrops... Mama can put those things into her own eyes as far as I'm concerned. The person who invented eyedrops should be shot.On the bright side:
My Uncle Luca (or someone he knows) knows how to crochet and he sent me this funky looking cap. Mama and Daddy think I look adorable with it on (Thanks Luca!!). I am only willing to wear it though - and for that matter all and any hats - when it's cold enough outside. It was pretty cold, but just to make sure, they also tricked me and strapped it to my chin. Who needs enemies if you have parents like that?

The New Year
For the New Year, Mama and Daddy rearranged the living/dining room. They think it's more open this way. I know, I have more space to run around in circles. And here's one more shot of little old me, as cute as ever ;)
Kathi moved in with me
Kathi and her parents moved in with us over New Year's and the day after that, too. They had to leave their apartment cause they were going to leave for Germany again on January 2nd, you see. As always, Kathi and I had a great time. We even bathed together, which was even more fun than usual. Mama says it's a wonder we could both fit into the tub with all my toys.I don't really know what our parents did for New Year's cause I spent it in bed, but I hear they had the new raclette grill up and running (thanks, Jan and Simone) and afterwards almost burned down the house when they made Feuerzangenbowle... a drink that consists of hot wine and rum, which trickles into the hot wine after having burned through a sugar cone.... why would you drink that if there's milk available?
Kathi has left now and it makes me very sad to think about it. We promised each other we'd see each other again when I go to visit Kaiserslautern next.
Christmas III
Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts and greeting cards (I love to rip them off the fridge). And thanks, Mama, for the pureed goose, dumplings and red cabbage. Maybe this year I can have the non-pureed version? Just an idea.I thought this is a pretty cute family picture.
Auntie Nina got these PJs from Santa.
And because she had to sleep in the kitchen/breakfast room (we don't have THAT much space), Mama made her waffles that she ate in bed one morning. Heehee.
And this is me showing Beebie the dormant lawn and the asphalt in our court.
Christmas II
Greatgrandma sent me twins! They are soooo much work, and that's not even taking into account my other two babies, Beebie and Erika (my cabbage patch baby). But it's very rewarding to be a mommy of four. And they all love to be pushed around in their stroller. How do you like my dress? I still think stilettos would have gone better with it than my no-skid socks, but Mama was worried about me getting cold tootsies. Nermal didn't get changed into anything fancy for Christmas, instead he used the gift wrap to make himself look pretty.
Christmas I
I love Christmas. I got showered with toys and new trendy clothes. Mama says I'm the best dressed person in the household. Here are some of my favorite shots.
Daddy made this ornament when he was little.
This is me at the end of my tunnel.
...and on my new stepstool. Grandma painted it herself. I love it.
I even push "Beebie" around on it.... apparently everyone's really happy about my real first word.
Boone Hall Plantation
We also went to Boone Hall Plantation. That was a secret surprise for Oma. She had no idea that the place had been the set for "North and South" ("Fackeln im Sturm"). Auntie Nina got more excited about "The Notebook" though.Oh, all the things we did!
We played outside, decorated the house, I was assisted in my eating and read to by everyone... did I mention? I loooove books. I had an awesome time, I'm sorry they had to leave again so soon.Christmas Company
First of all, apologies for not having updated my blog for so long. Grandma emailed me that she was going through withdrawals, so I decided I need to sit down... eventhough, let me tell you, I've been busy, busy, busy.My Oma, Opa and Auntie Nina came to South Carolina to spend Christmas with us. I was well chuffed. And they were sooo happy to see me.
